This presented a clear need for an alternative solution. However, this wasn’t just any house. It was a meticulously renovated traditional home, rich in character and heritage.

The client’s passion for the property was evident, and so was their main stipulation: any accessibility solution could not compromise the internal aesthetics or structural integrity of the historic building. Demolishing walls or making significant internal alterations was simply not an option due to heritage constraints. The core challenge became: how do we provide modern accessibility while respecting and preserving the home’s unique traditional vibe?

As we explored various options, the client led us to the home’s charming internal courtyard. This immediately sparked an idea.
